We have come full circle. We have achieved
great things. And we are a great people with a
noble cause. There are no singular attribute to
our achievements, everything is collective, and
everybody has worked hard. I think it sounds
good and we can now go places.
Today would never have been a reality without
all of the monkeys’ effort. This is the single
most important year in our 13 year history that I
have spoken to all the chapter presidents and
they gave me their commitment, and assurance
that they will do all in their power to make an
official representation to the Reunion 2009 and
make it a success.
At no time has a chapter work so hard to participate in the era of change. “Yes we can”! This year unlike any other, the Carolinas Chapter is changing the way we do things. We will have a tour of the city and a photo shoot at the border of the North and South Carolina. We will have live entertainers of Liberian stars at the Reunion ball, and for the first time we will have an outsider, a born American of non-Liberian descent, as
Guest Speaker. Trophies and awards will be presented at the ball .This year promises to
be the year where we will have more alumni from the 90’s than any other year. This
year also poses the challenge to raise the highest amount of money.
As we prepare to have fun with all the goodies that Charlotte have in store for us, let
us reflect on our theme for this year’s reunion “As we celebrate our past, we contribute
what we have to educate the children “ , and our commitment to the organization, the
chapters, and the school. These powerful words from this year’s theme cannot be over
emphasized. Let us emulate these words by really contributing our reunion dues,
attending the business session and getting involved in the day –to- day activities of the
reunion, so that you can see how your money is being spent. Let us look not at petty
politics within the organization, instead we should look at the bigger picture,-the
children who are the real beneficiaries.
Welcome to Reunion 2009
