                                        Annual Report by the President
                                              -Status of the MCAAA August 1, 2009


We were not lucky like last fiscal year. This past fiscal year (August 3, 2008-July 30 2009) we lost a member of our Monrovia College Family. We lost Wilbert Hoff on Christmas Day, 2008. He had just gone back home. We are still   however, happy to report that we have no known knowledge of any other MCAAA member death during the course of the year. I continue to say that this is a good sign. It simply means that we are upholding our population and we have more people to recruit.

We lost the following Persons:

1) Skita Cassell- Daughter of Henrique Urey, ’77 ,and Marilyn Luke Urey,’79
2) Julia Smith- Mother of Emerson Deline,’81,  
3) Edna Scott Acolatse-Horace-Mother of Judson Addy, ’69, Aunt of James Acolatse,’83  
4) George Poneys, Sr. –Father of Celestine Poneys ‘84
5) Dorothy Musuleng Cooper-Mother of Johnny B Herring,’77, & Aunt of R. Francis Dempster, Sr.,‘70

Monrovia Alumni Association a New Direction

-We are pleased to announce the complete revitalization of the New Jersey chapter with a set of new officers

-We are also pleased to announce the complete revitalization of the North and South Carolina Chapters forming the merger of the New and Dynamic “The Carolinas Chapter” our illustrious host of this year’s Reunion

-The Carolinas Chapter hosted her installation and raise funds for her Chapter Operations

-NJ, and MN chapters also hosted Fund Raisers

-The Georgia Chapter has a new Recruitment Manager and is in the process of revitalization.

-Post Reunion fund raising on the National Level-. was non-existent  this fiscal year.

-Endowment Funds for Bereavement for members’ families and fallen members were unfortunately not realized. We hope that this becomes a reality in the next fiscal year.
